FAQ
What you need to know
Main faqs
What should I bring on an RV trip?
You will want the basics: bedding, cooking supplies, food, water, and clothing for different weather conditions. Don’t forget essentials like extension cords, leveling blocks, and a first-aid kit. If you’’re renting, ask what is already included so you can pack smart.
Are these guides suitable for beginners?
Of course. Our resources are written with both first-time campers and seasoned RV travelers in mind. We break down complex topics into simple steps so anyone can feel confident hitting the road.
Do I need prior RV experience?
No prior experience is required. If you’ve never set up an RV before, our beginner-friendly guides walk you through everything from parking to hooking up utilities.
What if the weather is bad?
Camping in poor weather is common, but preparation makes all the difference. We recommend carrying tarps, extra clothing layers, and checking campground facilities ahead of time. Our articles also share tips on safe driving and setup in rain, wind, or heat.
Are there any age or fitness requirements?
RV travel is open to all ages and fitness levels. The activities you choose—like hiking, biking, or fishing—may have their own physical requirements, but the RV lifestyle itself is family-friendly and accessible.
Is safety equipment provided?
Since we are a resource hub, not a campground or rental service, we don’t provide equipment. But we do recommend safety gear such as wheel chocks, fire extinguishers, and CO₂ detectors, and we review these items to help you choose the right ones.
Before we start
When should I arrive at a campground?
Aim to arrive at least a couple of hours before sunset. This gives you plenty of daylight to park, level your RV, and connect to utilities without rushing.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
No waivers are needed when using our site resources. If you book an RV rental or specific activity at a campground, some operators may require agreements for insurance purposes.
What should I wear on a RV trip?
Comfort is key. Bring weather-appropriate layers, durable shoes for walking around campgrounds, and quick-dry clothing if you will be outdoors a lot.
Can I bring snacks or drinks?
Definitely! Food and drinks are a huge part of the RV lifestyle. We even provide campfire cooking tips and recipe ideas so you can enjoy meals outdoors.
Will there be a safety briefing?
Not from us directly, but many campgrounds offer a quick orientation when you check in. We also provide guides on campground safety, covering everything from fire rules to generator use.
What happens if I’m running late to a campground?
Call ahead if you can. Many parks have quiet hours, and some may not allow late-night check-ins. Planning your route and arrival time carefully can prevent stress.
